Tuesday. Papa stayed with Riley last night. When I called Riley this morning, he was already up and signing in for seminary (7:15 this morning). Good boy! He did let me know that his hemoglobin was 6.4 today. Low. He will be having a transfusion today (2 units). They want to do the transfusion in the day when all of the doctors are around, (becasue of his allergic reaction on Sunday). Unfortunately because of the Benedryl, he will be going right back to sleep.
Riley received the Benedryl about 11am and slept until 8:30 tonight. He woke up ready to do his walk. He is amazing!
Our neighbor brought an amazing gift for Riley. Personalized M&M's. Really cool!
Thank you Shelly!! Amazing!!
Labs today:
White blood cells: 0.4 (normal 4.5 - 13.5)
Red Blood cells: 6.4 (normal 13.5 - 17.5) 2 units transfused
Platelets: 26 (normal 150 - 425)
ANC: 8 ( < 500 = severely neutropenic)
That's so cool that she got those made!! Good job Riley for getting up at 7:15 for seminary. You sure do have an amazing kid!!
ReplyDeleteChrissie I was shocked tonight when I saw Vince's status on facebook - we had no idea that Riley had been diagnosed with AML. We are so sorry that you all have to go through this experience, especially Riley! Brenden is the Bishop of our ward here and gave a blessing to another 15 year old boy the night he was diagnosed, also with AML back in August. They've been in Minneapolis for treatment ever since, but he is scheduled for a transplant tomorrow and is doing pretty well under the circumtances. I just spent the last hour reading your blog - you are great with a camera, as always, even in sad circumtances. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers! I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to try and keep some semblance of a normal family life for the rest of the kids and meet Riley' needs at the same time. Hugs to you and Vince. Just know that the Davis family is rooting for you and praying for you too!!
ReplyDeleteChrissie, I love you and am thinking of you. Thank you for sharing this difficult part of your life in a blog and for also sharing the miracles and blessings.
